GHS offers a variety of competitive and club sports for grades 3-12. Each season students have the opportunity to participate on elementary, JV, varsity and club teams against other schools in the St. John/St. Thomas District Interscholastic Athletic Association. Student athletes enjoy practicing on Trayser Field, one of only two turf fields in the Territory. This amazing resource, which is also open to members of the St. John community, was made possible by generous donors who believe in the importance of whole child wellness and the connection between body and mind.
More information about the sports being offered, season dates, and game schedules, will be communicated by GHS Athletic Director. All student athletes will be charged a $100 fee per season regardless of how many sports they play. Scholarships are available. We do not want any motivated student to miss out on sports because of financial concerns.
AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS
Lower Campus Faculty-Led Clubs:
A variety of after-school clubs and academic support opportunities will be available Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. We will not offer clubs on Tuesdays to allow all staff to participate in faculty meetings. Fees are $20 per day. Clubs will run from 3:20-4:30 p.m. Parent pick up at 4:30 p.m. is required as there is no late bus.
Upper Campus Student Interest Groups
Student interest groups and academic support will run on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:15-4:30. Upper Campus programming, which is more student directed (the faculty sponsor acts as a facilitator rather than a babysitter) and academic support (which can be either voluntary or in some cases mandated) will be offered free of charge for all students. Parent pick up at 4:30 p.m. is required as there is no late bus.
