Join us for Gifft Hill School’s 36th Annual Auction
March 5, 2022, 5:30 pm - 10:30 pm AST 

Gifft Hill School will host a Caribbean fête-style live auction and celebration on our own Trayser Field on Saturday, March 5, 2022. This spirited event will include St. John Festival-style food and drinks from some of our finest local vendors, the popular Wine Wall, and the R&I PATTON goldsmithing, and the Golden Ticket drawings. Our live auction will be live-streamed through Handbid, once again. Our fun evening will be topped off with the smooth sound of St. John’s own Cool Session Brass band. Plus, don’t miss out on our online silent auction leading up to the big night!

This vaccination-only, in-person event will be limited to 100 attendees and will follow all requirements of the V.I. Department of Health. Additional instructions will follow for those who purchase tickets for in-person attendance on Saturday, March 5, 2022. 

Ticket Purchase: Tickets to the in-person event at Trayser Field are now available for purchase at $175 per person, and include two chances to win fun items in the on-site-only drawings. (Does not  include specialty drawings: R&I PATTON goldsmithing, Golden Ticket, Wine Wall, etc.) After purchasing tickets, be sure each member of your party submits proof of Covid vaccination and registers to bid from their smartphone.

Registration to Bid: Anyone around the world can register at no charge through the Handbid app to bid on silent and live auction items and for tickets for the specialty drawings, whether or not you plan to attend the in-person event. We recommend that everyone who plans to bid download the Handbid app to your phone and complete the registration before arriving at the auction so you can place bids and scholarship pledges, check your bid status, and engage in the exciting bidding wars until the very last moment. Registration to bid does not constitute a ticket to the live auction in-person event. Bidding by computer is available, but the best bidding-war interface is by smartphone.

Should territorial Covid conditions require that GHS cancel our in-person event, we plan to continue our silent and live auctions and drawings as a virtual-only event. Stay tuned for additional information.

4. Be sure to download or update your cellphone Handbid app and follow the prompts to complete setup before arrival at the auction.

Address difficulty suggestion: If the required Google address lookup will not take your island address, we found the following neighborhood address will work to set up the account: “Gluksberg, St John 00830, USVI”. Be sure your billing address is correct on the payment page.

Password reset difficulty: If you request a password reset code be sent and you do not receive it, it may have been blocked by Liberty cell service to VI phone numbers. Please contact Elaine Mills at ElaineMills@giffthillschool.org for assistance.

Purchasing tickets for guests: If you are purchasing tickets for guests, please be sure to fill in the guest’s names and email and cell phone contacts. You can send them a text through the system to alert them a ticket was purchased for them and they can complete their registration.
